The first month is about showing up. After that, it's about not quitting.
Keep a log
Write down every session: the moves, sets, reps and weight. When it feels like nothing's changing, your log will show you it is.
Watch the right numbers
The scale bounces around day to day. Look at your weekly weigh-ins, your waist, how far you can walk, and how much you can lift. Strength usually goes up long before the mirror changes.
Plan for the bad weeks
You'll get sick, travel, or have a crazy week at work. Decide now what your "minimum" is: a 20-minute walk and one short session. Doing the minimum keeps the habit alive.
Every four to six weeks
Take an easy week, then check your plan. Add weight, add a set, or swap a move. If you've been working with a trainer, this is a good time for a check-in Session.
That's the Course. You've got a safe start, a weekly plan, the five moves, an honest take on weight loss and a place to train. The next step is the first session.
