On AlongSide you set your own rate, per hour, for each Offer. You can set one rate for in-person Sessions and another for remote. You can change it anytime.
How to land on a number
I won't hand you a number, because it depends on your trade and your town. Here's how I'd get there:
- Look at what a shop near you charges for the same job when they do all of it.
- Remember what you're selling. The Member is doing the work with you, so the job usually costs them less overall, even at a fair hourly rate for you.
- Charge for your judgment, not your sweat. What they're paying for is getting it right the first time.
- Start where you're comfortable, then adjust after your first few Sessions.
Members can also Make an Offer on price. You can accept, counter or pass. It's your call every time.
The fees, straight
The rule everywhere on AlongSide: Free to list. You only pay when money moves.
| Your plan | Monthly | Platform fee on your Sessions |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 9% |
| Guide Plus | $29/mo | 4.5% |
| Guide Premium | $99/mo | 0% |
The platform fee comes out of your payout, only when you get paid. Members pay a 9% service fee on their side no matter which plan you're on.
Start on Free. If you end up booking regularly, do the math on whether a plan saves you money. Don't upgrade on hope.
Tools you bring
If you own a specialty tool you bring to a Session, a lift, a scope, a tester, you can list it with its own fee. Members see it up front, so nobody is surprised.
